Commercial and Industrial

We undertake all types of commercial work up to and including maintenance of the finished installation.

Reactive maintenance

Wally Mays(Contractors)Ltd are currently working in partnership with the East Riding of Yorkshire council and are on the preferred list for reactive electrical maintenance throughout the region.

Our breakdown vehicles carry a stock of standard repair items and faults can often be rectified in one visit. If the fault is found to be non-electrical we can organise for the relevant trade to attend, or if you wish, a local tradesperson can complete the repair we have identified.

Domestic

Whilst we do not offer our services to individual domestic customers, we do quote to organisations with a housing stock portfolio. we have extensive experience in testing and inspections through to complete re-wires, kitchen upgrades and bathroom refurbishments. We are able to cater for large scale upgrade programs, working together with other trades to achieve a high standard of finish. We are accredited installers of AICO domestic smoke alarms.

Fixed Wiring Testing and Periodic Inspection

It is the duty of every employer and self-employed person to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. The purpose of the regulation is to ensure precautions are taken against the risk of death or personal injury from electricity in work activities. all electrical systems shall be, at all times, of such construction, and maintained to a level as to prevent, so far as reasonably practicable, a danger to its users. In order to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 duty holders have a responsibility to ensure that electrical systems are installed and maintained correctly.

To achieve this every electrical installation should be periodically tested and inspected.

We offer NICEIC periodic inspection reports, electrical installation certificates and minor works certificates. Using the latest software we can generate certificates electronically. Our certification software is provided by Clik software http://www.cliksoftware.com

Thermal Imaging

We also offer thermal image capture where necessary for predictive maintenance, equipment trouble shooting and verification.

Emergency Lighting

Wally Mays (Contractors) Ltd will provide a full service to ensure that your emergency lighting system complies with all relevant legislations. We will test and inspect existing systems to BS5266. This standard provides information and guidance on the categories of emergency lighting systems and their suitability for premises with different occupancy. This certification is also recorded electronically and for this we use www.cliksoftware.com

Lightning Protection Systems

We offer inspection, testing and maintenance of existing lightning protection systems. Our Test Engineers are qualified inspectors and upon completion of any lightning protection system, a Test Certificate will be provided showing compliance with, or deviations from BSEN62305. It is recommended in BS62305 that visual inspections be carried out at fixed intervals not exceeding twelve months.
